What is a Christian?
Christianity is often thought of as a cultural thing, something
you grow up with or something that is more along the lines of tradition.
It is often thought of as something which isn’t really true but
personal and subjective. It seems that when the Bible talks about the
truth of the Christian message, it describes it as a truth which is really
true, and not tied to personality, culture or experience.
Christianity could be described as a living relationship
between a person and God, where that person has moved from knowing about
God distantly, to knowing him personally and directly through the person
of Jesus Christ.
If you are new to the Christian message, there are, no doubt,
questions about the Christian faith which may keep you at a distance.
We believe that Christianity does stand up to rigorous questioning and
does level questions at us as we ask questions of it!
Christianity Explored
If
you are looking for a forum to ask questions of the Christian faith or
if you want to refresh your own convictions, then sign up for a Christianity Explored course. Over 7 weeks we enjoy a meal together, followed by
a short talk, after which we break into much smaller groups for coffee
and discussion.
We aim to treat all questions with respect and welcome honest and blunt
questions – we are not easily offended!

Core beliefs
Our beliefs are rooted in our trust in the Scriptures as the authoritative,
sufficient God-breathed Word to us.
They reveal the living God, who made our world, sustains it and will eventually
redeem it when His judgement brings in the new heaven and new earth.
They reveal the loving God who in his mercy made relationship with him
possible through the sacrificial death of Jesus for our sins.
They reveal the life-giving God who through his Spirit makes such a relationship
a living reality as he brings us to repentance and belief and provides
all we need for our Christian lives.
